Printing a PDF just to sign it and scan it back is one of the most wasteful steps in modern document workflows. The good news: you can sign any PDF digitally in under a minute, completely paperless.
The Fastest Method: Browser-Based Signing
- 1Go to signpdf.top (works on phone, tablet, or desktop)
- 2Click 'Sign PDF' and upload your document
- 3Click 'Add Signature' — draw with your mouse or finger, or type your name
- 4Position the signature on the page
- 5Click 'Download PDF' — you get a signed PDF, ready to send
No printer, scanner, or fax needed. The whole process takes under 60 seconds and your file never leaves your device.
Is a Digitally Signed PDF Legally Valid?
Yes — for the vast majority of documents. Electronic signatures are legally binding under the U.S. ESIGN Act (2000) and the EU eIDAS regulation for contracts, NDAs, employment agreements, and most business documents.
The few exceptions (wills, court orders, certain real estate filings) still require a physical signature — but those are rare edge cases.
What About the 'Wet Signature' Requirement?
Many organizations that once required wet (physical) signatures have updated their policies. Banks, insurance companies, HR departments, and landlords commonly accept electronically signed PDFs. When in doubt, ask the receiving party before assuming you need to print.
